The Kindergarten students did great on their first extended field day this year! THANK YOU so much to Aaron, Charlene, Shivaughan, Jeremy, Christina, Lynette and Leslie for accompanying our class today. Having so many volunteers gave me peace of mind that the students were safe and well taken care of. I appreciate the time you put in today and I hope you enjoyed your experience. I know this field study will be one that the kids remember for a long time.
The students were SO excited as the bus got closer to the core, I overheard some counting the overpasses as we drove under them, others pointing out familiar landmarks they have seen before and one boy in total amazement when he saw a parking lot that was four stories high! There was a sense of wonder as we got off the bus and suddenly became surrounded by these very big and tall buildings. The students had the opportunity to practice some of their photography skills today. As the groups toured along Stephen Ave, students used the mini iPads to capture photographs of things that looked interesting to them. They practiced zooming in and out, using terms that they learned this week, "macro and micro." In the gardens, students sketched objects that they were curious about. We will go over their findings in their journals together next week to see where the learning should go next. Here's a glimpse of our day downtown: Comments are closed.
